Levelized Cost of Energy
Levelized cost of energy (LCOE) measures the cost of generation over the lifetime of the energy asset. It is the minimum price at which energy must be sold for an energy project to break even. When determining LCOE one should consider balance of systems (BOS) costs.

Higher efficiency cells lower the module cost and the balance of system costs for the same power requirement in any solar PV installation. Also, higher efficiency cells increase the amount of power that can be generated within a fixed footprint, which is critical for applications where space is limited such as rooftops.
